Abstract

social mediandriven beauty standards.
Objective: To describe the clinical and psychosocial patterns of TSDF in Bangladesh.
Methods: A 12-month study involving 150 TSDF patients. Clinical evaluation, steroid history, symptoms, triggers, and
treatment response recorded.
Results:
• 87% female patients, age 18–35 years
• Steroid source: OTC 71%, parlor/social media 48%, cosmetic fairness brands 36%
• Prominent symptoms: Erythema, acneniform eruptions, telangiectasia, burning, photosensitivity
• 63% psychological distress reported
• Clinical improvement in 8–12 weeks after steroid withdrawal and barrier therapy
Conclusion: TSDF is preventable. Strict regulation, public education, and dermatologist led awareness are essential to
combat this rising dermatologic burden.
